On Monday evening (June 11, 2018) Langley Township Council gave 1st & 2nd reading to the bylaw amendments related to the proposed Murrayville Schoolhouse redevelopment. This now allows the Township to schedule a Public Hearing (anticipated for June 25). Prior to the Township’s Public Hearing, Lanstone Homes is providing another opportunity to view the plans on Wednesday June 20 at the Murrayville School (Open House from Noon until 8 pm).
With respect to the status of parking for park users, the Township’s requirements of Lanstone Homes includes the following condition which must be satisfied prior to final approval (adoption of the bylaws):
Provision of “security for the design and construction of an approximately 30 stall parking lot for Denny Ross Memorial Park (design process to include a public consultation component), to the acceptance of the General Manager of Engineering and Community Development”.
During consideration of 1st and 2nd reading, Council added a further condition that the south east corner of Denny Ross Park is NOT an option for locating the parking area.
Recognizing the sensitivity of any changes to the park, the Township felt that a separate public consultation process was appropriate.
